Some thoughts on Malaysia, the only country I have.

one thing that bugs every young mind in Malaysia : whether to go on, or not?
some may say this is our country, some say 'chehh why bother? earn hard enough to go overseas larh!'
yes, there is still room for improvements,
lots of issues to be commented
and a whole bunch of problems that trigger wars

yes, there are areas which we need to fix
economy, politics, and our own social problems
not forgetting one crucial area that shapes the future of the nation : education

If I am given a chance,
yes, I will definitely invest in education and research
not segregating students based on their results or performance, but to merge everyone in a class
teach the teachers not to judge students by their academic performance, and yes, lessen the stiffness of competition in grades.
it might be irrelevant, some might say : 'what for study so hard, not getting recognized?' (Cina Apek-ish)
well, this is hard, changing the mentality of our people is one big challenge
but if I study hard enough
think thoroughly enough
work smart enough
I might have a chance to draft the nation's education policies
to bear the responsibilities of failing
to withstand the pressure from other parties
to be adventurous enough to change

This is what a small head with big dreams can do for my country, in 20 years time.
If I am given a chance, and if I'm quick enough to earn that chance.

Case Histories--putting on my book reviewer hat

After SPM, which I had ample time to read and slack, an UTTERLY AMAZING thing happened.

My Bloggie (old, old, old) DIED.

ok it wasn't really dead. I was a mean streak and I didnt bother to write much in it, so yeah, may it killed itself.

There's one creepy storybook (i LLLIKKEEE creepy stories--even though i can't sleep much after reading those) that I've recently read out of boredom more than interest, and surprisingly I was so caught up in the story that I have trouble sleeping not finishing it.

Yeah i even sneak out of my bed to read. It was a super crazy thing to do for a 17-year-old who should be waking up early for work the next day.(i ended up with strained eyes worst than pandas'--panda don't normally strain their eyes till blue-black, they're just too lucky to be borne with those cute blacky eyes)

well here goes the plot (well the plot is random in this story, the author introduced the characters with stories, and my brain's all scrambled up after reading it, and yeah, i cant sleep too, it's just too creepy)

Jackon, he was a police officer, was in the army, was a happy husband and dad (guess what happened) and now he's fighting for custody for his only daughter--whose name is Marlee and wears shirts like "Too many boys, too little time" apparently he felt that the mom, Josie had did a fantastic job with her current boyfriend raising his kid into a wild child.
CASE 1
1. Amelia and Julia, the sisters who contacted Jackson to search for their little sister, Olivia which disappears 23 years ago. They found her lil' soft toy (the blue mouse--dont ask me why kids those days prefer mice than teddies) in their dad's room, after the old man died.
2. Sylvia, aka Sister Mary Luke, their eldest sister, being all strange and faint-ty, killed Olivia (after 23 years of mystery--how did she do that?)  and buried her in their neighbor's garden with the hep of the father.
3. Olivia was found by Jackson(who else?) and Amelia turned from an academic typo person to one nudist--they called themselves naturalists. (ok this is drastic. i went all O_o when i read this part)
CASE 2
1. Laura Wyre was murdered 10 years ago in her dad's law firm (when she was 18)and her dad, Theo with all the fat and sweat came to Jackson for help to look for her daughter's killer.
2. Her Biology teacher Mr Jessop had a crush on her.Things were rocky between Mr and Mrs Jessop (now married to some Russian millionaire)
3. The killer was wearing a yellow golf suit, shouting "WHER'S THEO WYRE?" and apparently that poor insane man mistaken Laura as her dad(quite a myopic vision he had--i assume) and knifed Laura. Things got pretty bloody.
4. The killer was Mr and (the first)Mrs Jessop's  neighbor, some lawnmower called Stuat. The funny thing is, they never questioned Kim Jessop(Mrs Jessop) all these while, after all the hastle for 10 long years.
5. Theo found a girl called Lily-Rose, who was 25 and looked more like 1 17-year-old girl, who happened to be the beggar girl by some roadside.
CASE 3
1. Michelle married Keith after she discovered she was pregnant. They lived in some country and Michelle has to do a lot of work. Typical hard-core housework, and that involved work from chopping fire wood to cradling a crying baby.
2. Michelle left school and her A levels.Tried to keep up with her work n studies. She wanted to be perfect.
3. one fine glorious day she was revising her A-levels and had everything done, till her stupid husband crashed down some fire-wood and woke the baby up. Tensed and was smoldering with anger all along, she got up, reached for an axe, and axed his head into half. Her sister, Shirley arrived one day later and discovered the bloody mess.
4. Tanya the baby was given to Shirley as her guardian.
5. Shirley lost that baby. If she were to be found, she'll be 25 this year.
6. Michelle went into some jail and called herself "Caroline" for a fresh start in life, and fell in love with a Catholic priest named John. (O_o) yeah right, after all these year.
7. Apparently it was Shirley, who's some nurse and who'd married a doctor, had killed the husband. And she had the guts to lose her sister's baby.
8. The baby is now happily feeding on Theo's fairy cakes and chocolate. Yeah, she's Lily-Rose.

Awesome story, aite? Random like anything. Told'ya my brain went cuckoo for a few hours after reading this, till i failed my parking test.

Well, high time to put on my book reviewer hat now and take off that bedtime story teller's hat

1.wow, being academics and boring earn you nothing if you ignore what's in life. Look at Amelia, she had only achieve what she really wanted in life(read the book--it's quite obscene for me to mention it here) after all these while being bookish.
2. Family matters a lot. Look at Theo, he has another daughter, less favored and less loved. When aura died, all she said was "oh yea? now what dad?" (she still has the decency to address him DAD)
3. Family matters most. Dad and mum are the ones influencing their kids. Julia and Amelia grew up in a family with a dad who's always locked up in a room, abused his daughters sexually, and didn't give any concern to his wife, who married him when she foolishly(word used by author) thought she's in love with him, and got a shock of her life after the wedding night.
4. Family still matters a big chunk in our life. Jackson's sister has been murdered on her way home. Guilty for not fetching her home that night, his brother killed himself. Jackson loves his daughter so much, that he had started becoming a woman and wept a lot after 2 weeks looking after Marlee. Stress maybe?
5. You never know the person you're kind to, even she's some neighbor with stinky attitude and weird pronunciations and called herself Binky, she's the one leaving all her possessions and her will goes to Jackson, who's always pretending to listen to her complaints whenever she lost a cat(she had thousands of them) instead of her only blood relative Quintus (what kind of name is that?)
6.Randomness makes you think. I cant include everything in the story here, it might spoil the random spirit if u happened to pick up this book. Highly recommended to all, esp random peeps like me and CSI-investigative-spirited peeps.

I shall conclude this with a sigh, saying "OH HOW I LOVE MYSTERIES"
